Tips For Success With Your Healthy Cooking System
Add a cup of white vinegar to the soapy water the 1st time you wash your new cookware (Removes manufacturing residue)
- Medium - Whistle - Low is all you need to know... Occasionally lower for gas ranges. Medium heat will bring you up to perfect cooking temp. Your "Whistle-Temp" knob will whistle for you. Once you've reached the desired cooking temperature, simply close the whistle and turn heat to low. This will create a slight "vapor-seal" and your food will cook moist and tender.
- Pre-heat for MEAT... (Med heat for about 2 minutes) Drops of water should bead and dance (not bubble and steam). Remember that meats will stick at first, then sear perfectly, and release.
- Eggs... Always use spray, butter, or light oil. Preheat pan. Let eggs cook a little then slide under with a metal spatula.
- Choose the right size pan... Veggies should fill the pan at least 2/3.
- Rinse fresh veggies from the produce counter and allow some moisture to cling to the veggies.
- If you lift your cover before you're done cooking... You can reseal it by raising the temp back to medium until it whistles again.
- Add "hot" water to a "warm" pan for easy cleanup. Use "Barkeeper's Friend" (on inside surfaces & bottoms) to polish or remove residue when needed.
- To avoid warping your cooking surfaces NEVER shock a hot pan with cold water.
- The use of metal utensils (forks/spoons/spatulas) & steel scrubbers is fine and will not hurt the inside of your cookware.
